Dior Spring 2014 Collection – Trianon

After having just visited Versailles Palace on my tour of Europe this month and falling utterly in love with Marie Antoinette’s Estate and her beautiful Petit Trianon Palace, the inspiration for this range. I do love the pastels of this collection but unfortunately the price got in the way of me just buying the whole lot.

While I would have loved to have purchased this entire  collection it was simply too expensive for me to do that. My favourites include the 5 Colour Eye Palette in Pastel Fontanges 234 and the Nail Vernis in Porcelaine 204 and Bloom 777. In the end I decided I would just go for the lovely new Dior Addict Gloss in Pétillante 442 for $49 from David Jones. Unfortunately neither David Jones and Myer stock Dior on their website so I am unable to give you a link.

It is a beautiful light peach gloss with very dynamic glitter through it. The glitter flakes are a range of different colours which is both stunning and impossible to catch on camera but if you swatch this gloss you will see what I mean. The formula is fantastic, which is very typical of the Dior Addict Gloss. Unfortunately this gloss does not last long on the lips. At best it stays on for a couple of hours but that is to be expected to a certain extent from a gloss. It is also a fairly generous 6.5ml so even though it is expensive you are getting quite a lot. The tiny little application brush is quite nice too and I prefer it to the fluffy wand types.

Again, I must stress that the beauty of this gloss far exceeds this picture so head into any David Jones or Myer and try it out for yourself. Also feel free to let me know what you think of the rest of the Trianon range and lament with me about how expensive it is. I seriously would have bought every single thing in this range if not for the price.

Thanks for reading.
